The draw for the team sports on the Summer Universiade program in Gwangju was held on Monday in Gwangju, Korea.  The Team Draw was attended by the Heads of Delegation from 50 different countries.
The Draw was conducted by FISU Secretary-General/CEO Eric Saintrond and a number of re-known Korean athletes were invited to assist the draws, i.e. Mr. Choi Soon Ho (Football), former National football team player at Italy 1990 World Cup; Ms. Hong Jeong Ho (Handball), 1992 Gold Medallist at the 1992 Barcelona Olympics, Gold Medallist at the Women’s 1995 Handball World Championship and Silver Medallist at the 1996 Atlanta Olympics; Mr. Kang Man Soo (Volleyball), Gold medallist at the 1979 Mexico City Summer Universiade and 5th at the at the 1984 LA Olympics; Mr. Lim Jeong Myung (Basketball), basketball player at the 1980 Bucharest Universiade and former national team player at the 1982 New Delhi Asian Games, awarded MVP of Korea national basketball league in 1985. Mr. Jang Jung Nam (Baseball), Vice-President of the National Association of University Sports and former Head of delegation of D.P.R.K at the 2003 Daegu Universiade was the specially invited guest for the baseball team draw. FISU CTI chair John Warnock did the draw for Water Polo.
