The hosting country of the 27th World Winter Universiade 2015 is Spain – Granada, which has been selected on the basis of nominations in 2009. Unfortunately, the hosting country does not have suitable conditions to organize some of the sporting events, that is why the International University Sports Federation delegated Slovakia, through the Slovak University Sports Association, to organize competitions in Biathlon, Cross-Country Skiing, Nordic Combined and Ski Jumping. Date of the competitions of the 27th Winter Universiade 2015 is set on the 24 January – 1 February 2015 at Štrbské Pleso and Osrblie.

COMPETITION FORMAT

Men: 10 km individual FS, 15 km Skiathlon (CS+FS), Sprint CS, 30 km mass-start, 4×10 km relay (CS-CS-FS-FS)
Women: 5 km individual FS, 10 km Skiathlon (CS+FS), Sprint CS, 15 km mass-start CS, 3×5 km relay (CS-FS-FS)
Mixed: mixed team sprint

PARTICIPATION OF ATHLETES

Men: each NUSF (National University Sports Federation) can enter a maximum of 8 athletes, 6 of whom may participate in the individual events and 4 in the relay.
Women: each NUSF (National University Sports Federation) can enter a maximum of 8 athletes, 6 of whom may participate in the individual events and 3 in the relay.
The teams for the mixed team sprint are made up of two athletes, one man and one woman. Each NUSF (National University Sports Federation) can enter a maximum of two teams in the mixed team sprint.
